YAY!
well November was an excellent reading month... seriously! it was awesome!
here's what I snuggled up with:
"The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern
"The Near Witch" by Victoria Schwab
"Become" by Ali Cross
"Anna and the French Kiss" by Stephanie Perkins
"Hourglass" by Myra McEntire
See? how in the world do you expect me to pick one, just ONE???
They were all awesome. Really. You need to read every single one.
But since I do have to pick one, because that's the point of this post.... November's pick is:

From Goodreads:
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

Oh Night Circus how do I love thee. Let me count the ways:
I love your beautiful, lyrical prose,
I love the magical world created within your pages,
I love all of the players in this dangerous game you play, each unique, fully developed , and marvelous,
I love Widget and Poppet the most, even though they were secondary characters, I want to be their friend,
I love the late night dinners- still waiting for my invitation,
I love the unpretentious love story,
I love the imagery,
I love the magic you hold,
I love you Night Circus,
why oh why won't you come to my town
what have you read this month? share it with us :)
I ADORED The Night Circus, too! I want to read it again (that's how you know I REALLY loved it), but I just bought a bunch of new books I want to read first--including Anna and the French Kiss and Hourglass :) I bought The Night Circus as a Christmas gift for someone and I can't wait for them to read it so I can gush more with them!
ReplyDeleteI totally want to read this book. But it's too far down on my TBR list. Maybe I'll have to do some rearranging.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. LOVED it so much.
ReplyDeleteI have got to get "book of the month" on my new blog! I love it. This month I have read DIVERGENT and VARIANT! Both awesome. Now that I'm done with this semester I can read even more! YAY! This book you mentioned sounds cool! Can't wait to check it out!
