Then I found Young Adult, and I mostly read fantasy, sci fi.
Well, I was at the library a few days ago and they had "Anna and the French Kiss" by Stephanie Perkins. I have read countless posts on how fabulous Stephanie Perkins is.. so I thought, what the hell, lets try something new.

People!!!!! why didn't someone tell me how freaking fabulous she is? okay, you who have read it, have probably done so on your blogs! But I need someone to shove it in my face.
I'm only like 10 pages in and already I ADORE Anna... and I'll be honest, I'm feeling a little silly, because this is sooooo not the type of story I like to read, but Anna? she is just too charming!
Have you read this book?
what did you think?
Loved this book! Couldn't set it down, I think you'll feel the same way :)
ReplyDeleteI loved this book! I could not put it down and I blazed right through it.
ReplyDeleteI have heard awesome things about this book. It is sitting on my shelf, patiently waiting for me to read it! Ugh! I wish school was over. I'm glad you liked it. Now I am even MORE excited to read it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book yet! I'm like you--I like darker themes/more fantasy-ish books. But I've also heard great things about Stephanie's books, and now that you are gushing about it I suppose I'll have to pick up a copy :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorites. I too read it all the way through in one sitting. Awesome. And she is pretty funny on her blog/twitter.
ReplyDeleteI have it on my list, but like you, I need recommendations shoved in my face. The author is at a panel event tonight at my local bookstore but I'm not sure if I'm going yet. Maybe I should or I'll be miffed to have missed her once I read this.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books. I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with Anna and let's not even talk about my love for Etienne. Happy reading. It only gets better.
ReplyDeleteThis has been on my list for ages. Isn't it great to find a new treat :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet, but your post has made me add it to my to-read list. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteIt was way fun.
ReplyDeleteIf you like that one, you need to read The Truth About Forever by Dessen.
SO good.
I read the whole book yesterday, I could not put it down, so you know how fantastic it was. I love books that grab me like that.
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely read "Lola and the Boy Next Door"
I haven't read this but it is on my TBR list. I have so many books on my shelf that are lonely and want me to read them, that this one will have to wait a little while.
ReplyDeleteI have not read it, but how could I pass it up after all the glowing reviews and recommendations here? I will add it to my list. I am more of a mystery/suspense reader, but I like to add variety to my list. I actually read a book Sunday, in one day (I didn't expect to do that during NaNo), but you know what happens when a book takes control and you just cannot put it down. I read, The Boy In The Suitcase, by Lene Kaaberbol and Agnete Fris. It was relatively short, about 300 pages and full of suspense. If you are looking for a quick mystery read you should give it a shot. I had never read anything by either of these authors and I was very impressed.
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy Thanksgiving. You have me psyched to read Anna & The French kiss, next.
Oh my goodness, I love this book! I actually had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie before I read ANNA and I just loved her. She's so sweet, and likable, and normal! I was a fangirl before I even started reading her work. I bought ANNA that day and I was blown away. This book is amazing and so is the author! I recommend it all the time. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for the blog comment!
Sigh. Oh great, more books to add to my reading list...
